The transfer of technology from Research and Development to
utilization and application has been a struggle for many in the past 10
years. As research funding became less available in the environmental
field more requirements were placed on university researchers to transfer
their technology into the commercial sector. The challenge generated by
this request has been explored and successfully achieved by researchers at
NHSRC.
NHSRC staff and faculty have set standards for technology transfer across the Nation. They have shown that publication of research products, though helpful, in the technology transfer process do not achieve the entire goal. NHSRC has been a leader in demonstrating the use of "technology" in the field. This added dimension to the process has resulted in commercial adoption of technology generated by all HSRC groups throughout the country.
